Sidewalk & Pavement Improvements in Cedar & Greene Counties Scheduled to Begin Week of Aug. 17

Cedar & Greene Counties – Drivers should watch for contractor crews making sidewalk and pavement improvements at various locations in Cedar and Greene counties beginning the week of August 17, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will make improvements that include curb ramps, landings, crosswalks and pavement markings conforming to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as some drainage work.

Here is a look at the locations:

  • Cedar County
    • Missouri Route 32 (West Street) between High Street and Sac Street in Stockton
    • Missouri Route 39 (South Street) between Missouri Route 32 and 3rd Street
  • Greene County
    • Missouri Route 123 (Washington Street) at Greene County Route BB (Main Steet) in Walnut Grove

Traffic Impacts:

  • Drivers are urged to use caution and be aware of crews and equipment working close to traffic
  • Work will be done during daytime hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday)
  • Occasional daytime work on Saturdays is likely
  • Drivers may encounter occasional lane closures or lane shifts, and flaggers in areas where crews are working
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones
  • No signed detours
  • Drivers should find alternate routes around work zones
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

  • Total cost: $774,000
  • Completion date: December 1, 2026
