TRAFFIC ALERT: Expect Closures, Lane Reductions on Route 37 in Monett Aug. 30-Sept. 3

When/Where:

  • 6 p.m., Sunday, August 30 through 6 a.m., Monday, August 31
    • Missouri Route 37 CLOSED between Dairy Street and U.S. Route 60 in Monett
  • 6 p.m., Monday, August 31 through 6 a.m., Thursday, September 3
    • Missouri Route 37 reduced to one lane between U.S. Route 60 and Park Street in Monett

What: Contractor crews resurfacing the intersection of Missouri Route 37 and U.S. Route 60

Traffic Impacts:

  • All lanes of Missouri Route 37 CLOSED between Dairy Street and U.S. Route 60 during nighttime hours August 30
    • No signed detours for this closure
    • No access to U.S. Route 60 from southbound Route 37 during closure
    • Drivers will have access to all driveways and entrances on Route 37 but will not be allowed to travel through the work zone
  • Missouri Route 37 reduced to one lane between U.S. Route 60 and Park Street during nighttime hours August 31
    • Drivers will be directed through work zone by flaggers and should expect delays
  • All lanes of U.S. Route 60 OPEN to traffic
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

This work is part of a project to make improvements at six (6) intersections along U.S. Route 60 between Newton County Route Y east of Seneca and Missouri Route 97 in Barry County near the Monett Regional Airport. More information can be found by going to the project website.

  • Completion Date: December 1, 2026
  • Total Cost: $9.7 million
