MoDOT to hold third public meeting on Route 30 in city Nov. 17

ST. LOUIS – People who live, work, travel or visit along Route 30 (Gravois Avenue) in the city of St. Louis are invited to share feedback on proposed corridor changes at an upcoming public meeting.

The meeting is set for Nov. 17 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Rung for Women, 2717 Sidney St., St. Louis, MO 63104. There will be no formal presentation, and attendees may stop by at any time.

Gravois Avenue is a 5.7‑mile corridor that serves multiple neighborhoods and users throughout the city. The ongoing planning study reviews roadway conditions, traffic patterns and crash history to identify potential safety and mobility improvements that address community needs.

MoDOT and the city are inviting the public to review and comment on early roadway concepts. At the meeting, project staff will share potential design options that explore changes to parking, turning movements and bicycle facilities, as well as other ideas intended to enhance safety along the corridor.

Community input will play a key role in determining which design ideas move forward, helping the project team understand how proposed changes may function in practice. The feedback gathered at this stage will guide refinements to the corridor plan as work continues. Construction on the resurfacing and safety improvements is scheduled to begin in 2029.

“MoDOT has been working with the community throughout 2026 to create a shared vision for what enhanced safety might look like on Gravois. This project is still considering a range of options. At this meeting we will have potential roadway designs drawn up for the community to consider along with us,” said Jen Wade, MoDOT area engineer in the city of St. Louis. “We need input from the people who live, work and play around Gravois to make sure our team knows about the strength and weakness of the various ideas.”

The meeting is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend. Project updates and information on future meetings will be shared as the study moves forward.

Anyone needing reasonable accommodation to participate may contact Mike Rains by Thursday, Nov. 12, at mike.rains@modot.mo.gov or by calling or texting 314‑430‑8673.

For those unable to attend in person, meeting materials and a comment form will be available beginning the day of the meeting at the Missouri Department of Transportation’s project website: Missouri Route 30 (Gravois) Pavement Resurfacing and Safety Improvements in St. Louis City. Comments will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 1.

“We are nearing the end of the planning phase, before engineering plans begin,” said Wade. “This is still an impactful time to have your voice heard in how Gravois will look in the future. Hope to see you there!”
